This week I did submit one article to the Carnival of Real Estate but you won't find it there today. And you may never find it there. And I'm ok with that. This post by the moderator of this week's Carnival of Real Estate explains why certain submissions won't be included and I couldn't agree more. Even if my contribution didn't make the cut (and we won't find out until Thursday at the latest).
Greg Swann, the moderator of this week's Carnival of Real Estate, is posting the carnival submissions over four days starting with the best (in his opinion) with less quality submissions each subsequent day. The reason is that he wants the posts to offer quality information rather than just be a collection of people's random thoughts, or worse. But Greg says it more eloquently that I just did.
"I know the practice until lately has been to make note of every entry, but the number of entries is growing week-by-week, and I don't think it is any favor to conflate serious attempts to push back the darkness with phoning-it-in cat-blog posts. It's certainly a disservice to the people striving to do the most and best they can with their weblogs, and it strikes me as being unjust, also, to the people doing substandard work.
I don't know if my post about a real estate auction I attended will make it. After reading the other posts, I certainly see why it didn't make it today. But whether it makes it or not I appreciate Greg's desire to present useful and informative information rather than dubious speculation or flawed reasoning. His detailed explanation of the reasons why he decided to host the carnival in this manner will make me strive to write better posts.
