Back From Vacation

I've missed a week of posting but that's OK since my philosophy is quality not quantity. My trip to California (my favorite state in the union) was wonderful and has inspired me to begin working on new postings. Whether I'll have time to actually write them I don't know but I'll try.

Vacations are worth every penny I spend, it's my reminder of why I work so hard the rest of the year. If it weren't for my hard work, and discipline in saving, I wouldn't be able to take the trips I do.

This post I wrote a while back, captures my feelings about vacation quite well. Unlike that post, I flew coach this time (as I've done for quite a while now). I might have enough miles for an upgrade by my next vacation but I might not. I know that it will be worth it when I do however.

I tend to go to places where wealthy people like to go and it really puts my life and financial situation into perspective. As I walk down the street or sit at a sidewalk cafe, I see cars go by that cost more than my house (or most houses for that matter). Who are these people and what do they do? This recent post talks about that very thing. A writer at Money Magazine wondered the same thing but he actually went up to these mansions and knocked on the door and asked (the actual Money article can be found here).

I met some people who probably live a life much different from my own but while we were together, sharing a common interest, it felt as if we had been friends for years.

Now I'm back to work counting the days until my next trip. I am thankful for what I've got but that doesn't mean I don't want any more.
